Nationally acclaimed poet to give public reading

Ruth Stone
Poet Ruth Stone, Bartle Professor and professor emerita of English, will give a public reading Thursday, February 27, at 8:15 p.m. in Lecture Hall 14. A reception will follow outside the hall. Stone recently received the National Book Award in Poetry for her volume of poems In the Next Galaxy and the Wallace Stevens Award from the Academy of American Poets. Her previous volume, Ordinary Words, received the 1999 National Book Critics’ Circle Award. Stone is teaching a short course on poetry through February 28.
