Take the Bearcat for a ride with new BU license plate

Binghamton University supporters can take their Bearcat pride on the road with Binghamton University Bearcat license plates.

The plates, available to New York State-registered vehicles, can be obtained from the state Department of Motor Vehicles. They carry a profile of the Bearcat, the Binghamton University name and the notation “Bearcats.”

Standard plates, with three numbers between 100 and 999 (assigned by the DMV) followed by the letters CAT are available for $34.50. The plates have an annual renewal fee of $25 in addition to the regular registration fee that is billed every two years.

Personalized custom plates have a $50 annual renewal fee in addition to the regular fee every two years.

The license plates may be applied for at any DMV office where plates are issued, by calling 1-800-364-PLATES, or via the Internet. Application forms are also available from Kevin Burke, assistant athletic director, at 777-4211.
